Motor Fleet Insurance

There is a clear distinction between managing insurance arrangements and accident management - the latter involves the process of dealing with individual claims, ensuring that vehicles are repaired and costs recovered.

In the case of insurance management we are required to ensure that all vehicles are insured for all risks including additional drivers, passengers and personal effects.

Knowles Associates have access to independent insurance companies and the Lloyds market. We can arrange all forms of vehicle insurance including both fleet cover and individual insurance plans.

Our PCP product can include a fixed three or four year insurance premium that is based on vehicle group and driver claims record. The unique feature of the scheme is that is mileage-based which ensures that the premium you pay is directly related to the use of the vehicle.

It is also our responsibility to ensure that our client is not exposed to any risk that vehicles are not fully covered by insurance and that all statutory requirements are satisfied. This includes preparing monthly, quarterly and annual declarations, checking individual premiums and agreeing invoices. It involves the negotiation of insurance renewal and market testing the brokerage and underwriters for cost and service quality.

Each year we negotiate the insurance renewal on behalf of our client. We produce reports from our own systems showing claims costs and cause. This provides us with valuable information on trends and enables us to identify potential problem areas. We compare our reports with those of the insurance company to ensure that all the claims recorded are correct and that the insurance company has not inflated the claims cost and outstanding claims figures.

Our claims control helps us to identify potential harmful claims. In addition, we check the completion of claim forms to ensure that there is no admission of liability and that our client's position is best presented. We also ensure that all uninsured losses and third party recoveries are pursued, both of which will have a positive effect on claims history.
